SONS OF CREAM – THE ‘HALF AND HALF’ TOUR USA 2026: CELEBRATING THE ICONIC MUSIC OF THEIR FATHERS with SPECIAL GUEST THE GENERATIONS
March 8 @ 5:00 pm
In 1966 Ginger Baker drives with his wife Liz from London to Oxford to see Eric Clapton perform with John Mayall. After the show Ginger asks Eric if he wants to put a band together. Eric agrees if Jack Bruce is on bass. An iconic band is formed, which took pop, psychedelia, classical, African and folk and fused it with the blues. After almost 3 years of stellar success, 4 epoch defining albums and an incessant touring schedule, the band eventually imploded. But not before their famous Farewell Concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London on November 26 1968. The 3 musicians went off in different directions, but their impact as Cream was to continue throughout their individual stellar careers. The music has stood the test of time and lives on..Cream’s music has become an integral part of Kofi and Malcolm’s careers. And now joined by Rob Johnson (Eric Clapton’s Nephew), they continue to play the music of their fathers and are making it their own. It’s in the DNA.
Founded in 2023 by Chicago musician and philanthropist Rob Stepen, The Generations blends nostalgic 80s rock with modern influences. Their debut album, Alternate View, released in October of 2024, is the product of Stepen’s journey through the 1980s Chicago rock scene. After recording two tracks in 1985, “Have You Seen My Heart” and “Your Way,” the tapes were lost for decades until rediscovered in 2023. The tracks were restored by Steve Albini and Taylor Hales at Electrical Audio, mastered by Bob Weston at Chicago Mastering Service, and pressed at Third Man Records in Detroit. The album blends the energy of 1980s rock with a modern sensibility, creating a sound that resonates with both nostalgic and contemporary audiences.
