ARCADA’S SALUTE TO AMERICA’S 250th with MARK FARNER’S AMERICAN BAND and SPECIAL GUEST MOLLY HATCHET
July 12 @ 5:00 pm

Legendary all-American frontman and guitarist, Mark Farner, was the engine that pulled the original Grand Funk Railroad repeatedly to the top of the charts, and today he’s a platinum recording artist 30 times over. At age 70, Farner commands the stage with the same intensity and outpouring of love as he did during the summer of ’69 and his fans are still flocking to see “the Captain.” The rock patriot’s synergy and open heart still come through in epic hits that defined a generation including— “I’m Your Captain” (Closer to Home)” “We’re An American Band” “Heartbreaker” “Bad Time To Be In Love” and recut covers of “The Loco-Motion” and “Some Kind of Wonderful.”
Molly Hatchet is a Southern rock band from Jacksonville, Florida, formed in the 1970s. Known for blending blues, country, gospel, and rock, they became part of the Southern rock movement alongside bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Allman Brothers. Their 1978 debut album went multi-platinum, followed by Flirtin’ With Disaster in 1979, which helped define their sound and success. The band became known for heavy touring, energetic live shows, and lineup changes over the years, including the departure and return of key members like Danny Joe Brown and Bobby Ingram. Today, Molly Hatchet continues to carry on its Southern rock legacy, performing classic hits like “Flirtin’ With Disaster” and “Gator Country” while keeping their signature hard-driving style alive.
