This iconic English group is known for starting the careers of three of Rock’s most famous guitarists, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck. The band had a string of hits throughout the mid-1960s, including one of the most defining songs of that generation, “For Your Love”. The current band features a lineup of legendary musicians- notably, of course the Yardbirds’ co-founder, drummer Jim McCarty, guitarist GodfreyTownsend (John Entwistle, Alan Parsons, Todd Rundgren,) bassist Kenny Aaronson (Bob Dylan, Hall & Oates, Billy Idol, Derringer, Joan Jett), singer/harpist/percussionist Myke Scavone (Ram Jam, The Doughboys), lead singer/guitarist John Idan (who is on their 2003 CD “Birdland” album which features guest appearances from both Steve Vai and Slash).
