Uli Jon Roth – Interstellar Sky Guitar Tour

Welcome to Starship Uli! Experience an evening of true musical passion and inspiration! Uli takes us on a 360-degree journey into his world of artistic imagination. The choice of music for INTERSTELLAR SKY GUITAR is inspired and guaranteed to create an exciting journey through Uli’s intriguing musical world. The journey crosses over from both classical and baroque master pieces- such as Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and Mozart, Bach and Beethoven – to new music by Uli written for his 9-string Flamenco Sky Guitar as well as excerpts from a new Sky Guitar Concerto. Uli’s signature tool of expression is the legendary Sky Guitar which he invented and on which he will perform. These stunningly designed six-octave instruments have a far greater tonal range than traditional guitars, allowing Uli to equal the range of the violin and the cello. The main star of the collection is the stunning state-of-the art Excalibur 7-string Sky Guitar and the new 9-String Flamenco Sky Guitar, for which Uli has recently written a whole series of beautiful new pieces and which he showcases for the first time on this tour. ** RESCHEDULED FROM 2020 and 2023.  TICKETS VALID AT NEW SHOW DATE.

POSTPONED: The Immediate Family

THIS SHOW HAS BEEN POSTPONED!  A RESCHEDULED DATE WILL BE ANNOUNCED SOON! Very often a band’s formation can come from what seems like a preordained convergence. Musicians meet, they may perform together in various configurations. Time goes by as each one develops their own career. But sometimes there can be a musical attraction that puts them together again, and finally, each member seems to realize at the same time: this is a band. When that happens, it becomes clear that fate has a hand in what has come together. The Immediate Family became a band –Danny Kortchmar, Waddy Wachtel, Russ Kunkel, Leland Sklar and Steve Postell– and probably have more session and live show mileage than just about any other living players today. Each is known for its prodigious ability to be in the right place and at the right time on an endless list of best-selling and hugely influential recordings over the past 50 years.

Jim Messina of Loggins and Messina “Your Momma Don’t Dance”

An undisputed expert in the fine art of making hit music, Jim Messina’s legacy of musical genius spans five decades, three super groups, a vibrant solo career and scores of producing and engineering credits. While acting as producer/audio engineer for Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Buffalo Springfield, Messina ultimately joined the band as its bass player. When “the Springfield” disbanded in 1968, Jim and fellow bandmate Richie Furay formed Poco. With Jim on lead guitar, Poco defined a new musical genre of country rock. After three successful albums, Jim was ready for a change and left to return to his passion for producing music. He signed as an independent producer with Columbia Records where he was asked to work with an unknown Kenny Loggins. While helping Kenny get ready for a record and touring, the two discovered that they worked well together and Jim agreed to sit in on Kenny’s first album, and an accidental duo was formed.  Over the next seven years, Loggins & Messina released eight hit albums, had scores of hit songs and sold over 16 million albums.

AN EVENING WITH ABBEY ROAD – ALL-STAR BEATLES ROCK BAND WITH ORCHESTRA

Abbey Road: All-Star Salute to The BEATLES is a labor of love for what are essentially six of the hardest working musicians in Chicago. Add to that their significant list of Grammy® winning and recording artist guests – as well as their added string, brass, and woodwind players to represent the Beatles’ orchestral component – and you have passionate musicians that want to give back to audiences everywhere what The Beatles gave to them. To coin a phrase: “The love you take is equal to the love you make.” Abbey Road is literally ‘The Room Where It Happened’ under the tutelage of their inspired mentor Sir George Martin, who was initially as unlikely the producer of a rock group as The Beatles were a recording act. But each saw something in each other that sparked undeniable creative magic. Not only did the sacred ground of Abbey Road studios produce the most famous results in all of pop music history, the lads from Liverpool often became inspired to create song ideas right there, as they and their mentor collectively turned the recording studio into a well-tuned instrument in its own right. Abbey Road is dedicated to the faithful re-creation of The Beatles catalog with stunning note-for-note accuracy. “This Rock Band with its mini-Orchestra is incredibly authentic and will put goosebumps on your goosebumps! They are astonishing, stunning, and the real deal.”– John Vernon, Illinois Entertainer. ABBEY ROAD – The Room Where It Happened. The end result is astonishing, and most definitely, “A Splendid Time Is Guaranteed for All!” Members of Abbey Road are Steve Kikoen (Deacon Blues, Big Suit, Supernatural, Prognosis, Great Pretenders, The Deacons, Time Zone), Jay Goeppner (Backdated, Instant Karma), Frank Canino (Rosie & The Rivets, American English), Shawn Sommer (Maggie Speaks), Ben Lewis (Deacon Blues, Big Suit, Supernatural, Time Zone, Lt. Dan Band), Adrian Ruiz, and Chris “Bean” Weng (The Bad Examples). The Revolution Horns are Chuck Parrish (Ray Charles), John Bowes (Prognosis), and Rich Lapka (Deacon Blues) and The Kaleidoscope Strings are Olya Prohorova (Fugu Dugu), Dessi Nenova, Emi Tanabe (Cover Girls), Ani Moravec (Cover Girls) and Emma Lyn, with special guest appearances at selected performances by Winston O’Boogie.

Allman Betts Band with Special Guest JD Simo

Individually, they’re Devon Allman and Duane Betts, two solo artists and modern-day guitar heroes who’ve both spent years creating their own version of American roots music. Together, they’re the leaders of The Allman Betts Band, a supergroup anchored by sharp songwriting, fiery fretwork, and an historic legacy. Inspired by the classic sounds of the group’s family tree, The Allman Betts Band makes timeless rock & roll for the modern world, blurring the boundaries between blues, Americana, and southern soul. Over the course of two critically-acclaimed studio albums, hundreds of live shows, and annual performances of the Allman Betts Family Revival, The Allman Betts Band has established its own legacy of music and brotherhood. Devon and Duane first met as children in 1989, when their fathers — keyboardist Gregg Allman and guitarist Dickey Betts, both co-founders of The Allman Brothers Band — brought their boys on tour for the group’s 20th anniversary tour. “When you grow up on tour like that, it connects you at a young age,” Duane says. “From that point on, we knew we were family. Even though we never lived in the same city, we always had that bond.” There’s a rich lineage to The Allman Betts Band, whose two leaders are carrying the musical torch once held by their fathers.  JD Simo… The Chicago-born, now Nashville transplant is like a one-man crusade dedicated to keeping music real, raw, and honest. No matter the setting and no matter his role (whether it’s wingman or bandleader) J.D.’s presence infuses the situation of the moment with the music that’s been fueling him pretty much his whole life, spiced with influences that straddle both decades and dimensions. As a songwriter, guitarist, and producer he has worked with the likes of Jack White, Tommy Emmanuel, Luther Dickinson, Dave Cobb, Blackberry Smoke, and even been a member of Grateful Dead founder Phil Lesh’ “Phil & Friends”.

Sebastian Bach

With an inimitable presence as loud as his instantly identifiable voice, SEBASTIAN BACH has left a San Andreas Fault-size imprint on music, theater, film, television, and culture. Moreover, his influence only continues to magnify. He has penned and voiced some of the most iconic anthems in rock history, crafting a catalog highlighted by generational hits such as “18 and Life,” “I Remember You,” “Youth Gone Wild,” “Slave To The Grind,” “Wasted Time,” and “Monkey Business,” to name a few. He has made history as “the first heavy metal singer on Broadway” with a now legendary turn in Jekyll & Hyde: The Musical in addition to leading roles in The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Jesus Christ Superstar. He has appeared in dozens of television series and films, ranging from “Trailer Park Boys” and “Robot Chicken” to “Spongebob Squarepants,” “The Masked Singer,” and “Hell’s Kitchen.” Speaking to his versatility, he’s the rare force of nature who can duet with Axl Rose and reprise a seven-season recurring role on “Gilmore Girls.” Most recently, SEBASTIAN released a powerful new single, “What Do I Got To Lose?” on December 7. The new track comes on the hells of BACH’s show-stopping appearances as “Tiki” on Fox’s “The Masked Singer,” which earned him a spot as a Group B Finalist in December 2023.

Welcome Back My Friends: The Return of Emerson Lake & Palmer

Sole surviving member Carl Palmer, in association with the Estates of his bandmates Keith Emerson & Greg Lake, has announced the much anticipated  WELCOME BACK MY FRIENDS- THE RETURN OF EMERSON LAKE &  PALMER Tour.  The tour will actually reunite ELP LIVE ON STAGE through modern technology. After exploring the idea of a Hologram tour in detail, Palmer (with the Estates of Emerson and Lake) opted for what they felt was a more honest approach using live footage of Keith and Greg on massive video walls alongside Carl (and his band) playing LIVE on stage. The voice and instrumentation of Greg Lake and the unmistakable keyboard mastery of Keith Emerson will be mixed with Palmer’s onstage live drumming to magically reunite ELP once again. Paul McCartney’s duet with John Lennon at the end of his recent Got Back tour is a good idea of what ELP fans can expect from this show.

10CC

Among the most inventive and influential bands in the history of popular music, 10cc are one of the very few acts to have achieved commercial, critical and creative success in equal measure. 10cc has sold more than 30 million albums around the world and the band’s longevity is testament to their timeless songs. Founder member Gouldman attributes 10cc’s lasting appeal to the quality and individuality of the band’s songs. “They don’t seem to date; they are original, we never followed any trend we simple wrote for our own pleasure. The fact that the songs are being played as often on the radio today as they ever were shows how true that is,” he says.  10cc ruled the pop world at a time – the 1970s – when the charts were dominated by some of the most creative and colorful artists in pop history.  Unlike David Bowie, Queen, Elton John or Rod Stewart – all of whom they stood shoulder-to-shoulder with for a decade – 10cc’s energies were not centered on image or celebrity-status, but on creating highly sophisticated rock masterworks with mainstream appeal. Notable hits include “Donna”, “I’m Not In Love”, “Neanderthal Man”, “Art For Art’s Sake”, “Things We Do For Love”, and so many more!

The Music of CHICAGO with Danny Seraphine from CTA and Jeff Coffey

In the beginning, there was Chicago Transit Authority. Danny Seraphine, along with his bandmates set out to change the face of Rock and Roll by creating a rock band with horns. During his tenure with Chicago, they scored 20 top 10 hits, (5 reaching #1) and 10 Grammy nominations. He is considered the father of jazz rock drumming. In 2006, Danny came full circle, forming California Transit Authority (CTA). Guitarist Marc Bonilla and Keyboardist Ed Roth have been with CTA since its inception. In 2022, former Chicago bassist/singer Jeff Coffey joined the lineup, making this iteration the most powerful and dynamic in the band’s history. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, evidenced by all the Chicago cover bands out there. Adrenalize – The Ultimate Def Leppard Experience

Drawing their name from Def Leppard’s fifth studio album, ADRENALIZE – The Ultimate Def Leppard Experience recreates the chart-topping, chest-thumping anthems that made Def Leppard the iconic and dominant force in arena rock of the ‘80s and beyond. Kenny Wayne Shepherd: Dirt on my Diamonds Tour

Fresh off the release of his latest studio album, ‘Dirt On My Diamonds, Vol. 1,’ the five-time Grammy-nominated guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd has announced additional dates to his current nationwide tour. The new schedule includes a special free festival appearance at the Harley Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, WI, on July 25, followed by performances at the Paramount Theatre in Cedar Rapids, IA, on July 26, Brown County PAC in Nashville, IN, on July 27, the Scottish Rite Auditorium in Collingswood, NJ, on August 7, and the Casino Ballroom in Hampton Beach, NH, on August 8, with the latter featuring support from blues legend Jimmie Vaughan. These dates promise to deliver the high-energy, deeply emotional performances that fans have come to expect from Shepherd, showcasing his unparalleled guitar skills and his unique blend of blues and rock. The announcement comes on the heels of Shepherd’s latest studio achievement, ‘Dirt On My Diamonds, Vol. 1,’ a career highlight that has quickly captured the attention of blues enthusiasts and critics alike. Available now for purchase and on all digital platforms, the album is a sonic exploration that sees Shepherd venturing beyond the traditional confines of blues. This latest work features a compelling mix of tracks that delve into life’s complexities, weaving tales of loss, love, and redemption against a backdrop of intricate guitar work and soul-stirring vocals. Written at the legendary FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, ‘Dirt On My Diamonds, Vol. 1’ represents a pivotal moment in Shepherd’s career. The album blends modern urban influences with the traditional undercurrents of blues, a testament to Shepherd’s creative evolution and his commitment to pushing the genre’s boundaries. From the gritty title track “Dirt On My Diamonds” to the reflective “Sweet & Low” and the empowering “Best of Times,” each song offers a fresh perspective on blues music, infused with Shepherd’s signature sound. Reflecting on the album, Shepherd has expressed that ‘Dirt On My Diamonds, Vol. 1’ is more than just a collection of songs; it’s a narrative of personal growth and artistic exploration. “Every record I make is a moment in time, and this is a really special moment,” says Shepherd. The album’s creation was a collaborative effort, marked by days of non-stop writing with his favorite co-writers, where “nothing was off-limits.” This approach allowed for a richly diverse album that, while exploring socio-political narratives, maintains the core essence of blues. Shepherd aimed to craft an album that uplifts rather than dwells in darkness, a goal that resonates throughout the tracks. With ‘Dirt On My Diamonds, Vol. 1,’ Kenny Wayne Shepherd continues to redefine the blues genre, offering listeners a deep, introspective look into life’s imperfections through his music.

The Bacon Brothers Freestanding Tour

The Bacon Brothers have spent the better part of three decades exploring their own mix of folk, rock, soul, and country music. They call that diverse sound “forosoco,” and it’s taken them around the world, from headlining gigs in Japan to American performances at iconic venues like Carnegie Hall, the Grand Ole Opry and Gruene Hall. The exploration continues with the band’s twelfth release, Ballad Of The Brothers. It’s a record that highlights not only the similarities between Kevin Bacon (known worldwide as an A-list Hollywood actor) and Michael Bacon (celebrated as an Emmy-winning composer), but the differences, too. The two siblings may be bound together by blood and a mutual love of American roots music, but they’ve grown into sharp songwriters and cinematic storytellers with their own distinct approaches. Ballad Of The Brothers makes room for both of those approaches, offering a mix of edgy alt-rock (“Take Off This Tattoo”), Motown-inspired soul (“Put Your Hand Up”), fingerpicked folk (“Let That Be Enough”), and everything in between. The album also marks the continuation of a musical partnership that began long ago in Philadelphia, where the Bacons were raised on a soundtrack of 1970s singer/songwriters, Philly soul bands, and classic rock acts. Multiple decades and countless shows later, they’re creating their own soundtrack, saluting their old-school influences while making music that’s undeniably modern.

Average White Band

AWB are widely regarded as one of the best soul and funk bands in the history of music. Though perhaps best known for their timeless instrumental mega-hit ‘Pick Up the Pieces’ the band’s strength actually lay in their consistently accomplished song-writing. The band took the influences of their R&B heroes – people like Marvin Gaye, James Brown, Donny Hathaway and others – and developed their own ‘authentic’ sound. Notable hits include “Cut The Cake”, “Let’s Go ‘Round Again”, “Schoolboy Crush”, and “Person to Person” to name a few.   The current lineup of the band, with noted US musicians alongside founding members Alan Gorrie and Onnie McIntyre, continues to delight audiences and critics alike in its wide – ranging touring. The musical energy and trademark sound are remarkably true to the original, and with constant revisitations and re-workings of AWB’s, and others’ classics in the mix, it is no surprise that the Average White Band is now a multi – generational attraction, and a perennial fixture with so many of the top music venues. Band members are Cliff Lyons (Alto sax, keyboards, vocals), Rob Aries (Keyboard, bass), Onnie McIntrye (Guitar, vocals), Brent Carter (Lead vocals),  Alan Gorrie (Lead vocals, bass, guitar), Rocky Bryant (Drums), and Fred “Freddy V” Vigdor (Tenor Sax, keyboards, vocals).

Kings X // Vinnie Moore

After a sold-out show in 2023, King’s X is an Arcada Theatre favorite that returns with its powerful progressive metal, funk and soul with vocal arrangements influenced by gospel, blues, and British Invasion rock groups.  With a cult-following, deep-meaning lyrics and rockin-loud riffs, King’s X was ranked No. 83 on VH1’s 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock! Notable hits include “Out of the Silent Planet”, “Lost In Germany”, “Life Going By”, and so many more!  Once Vinnie Moore picked up his first guitar at the age of 12, he became, as he describes it, a “guitar freak.” His earliest influences included – among others – Jeff Beck, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, and Queen. As a performer, Vinnie Moore’s resume is impressive! A member of Alice Cooper’s band, he toured the U.S. on the Operation Rock ‘N Roll tour, and also performed on Alice’s album Hey Stoopid. Vinnie’s own band has toured extensively as a headliner and also was chosen as opening act for legendary rockers Rush on the Northeast leg of their Roll The Bones Tour. In 2003, Vinnie joined the legendary group UFO and remains with the group today.

Great White // Slaughter

For Great White to continue to thrive 40 years in the music business, the mantra must be, these songs are bigger than any one member. GRAMMY nominated hard rock legends, Great White, are adding onto that line with the saying: expect the unexpected. It’s rock and roll, baby. The peaks and the valleys haven’t stopped– nor has the music. Great White’s ride runs deep and its passion for the music goes beyond any depth. To experience their hits live in concert – “Rock Me,” “Mista Bone,” “Save Your Love,” “House of Broken Love,” and “Lady Red Light”—is to ride an emotional wave of sultry connections, arousing lyrics, and an all-out marathon of hard-hitting orchestrations. Audiences might also hear tracks like “Stick It”, “The Angel Song”, “Big Time” or one of the many deep cuts from Great White’s 13 studio albums. 1990 SLAUGHTER hit radio, MTV and the U.S. touring circuit like a tornado- coming seemingly out of nowhere to roll through everything in its path and turn it upside down. Touring the world with bands that they loved, Kiss, Ozzy, and others meant the good times were just a song away, and their first hit single, “Up All Night” certainly fit into that mold, their second chart-topper, “Fly To The Angels” was more representative of the spirituality and awareness that goes into most of the band’s music and lyrics. But never were SLAUGHTER more accurately represented that live onstage in front of their legions of devoted fans over the last ten years!  SLAUGHTER has shown that with perseverance and sheer talent, a band can survive and win over the support of fans, regardless of what others may say about the quality of their music. What’s most important is that their music is still here and the vast majority of critics who panned them in the past are not, and that’s as good as gold.

Last In Line – Former Members of Black Sabbath, DIO, and Def Leppard

Last In Line was formed in 2011, when Vinny Appice, Jimmy Bain, and Vivian Campbell, (Ronnie James Dio’s co-conspirators and co-writers on the “Holy Diver”, “Last In Line” – the album from which they took their name, and “Sacred Heart” albums) teamed up with esteemed vocalist Andrew Freeman. The debut album “Heavy Crown” was released in February 2016, landing at #1 on the Billboard Heat-Seekers Chart. Initially, the release had been preceded by tragedy when bassist Jimmy Bain unexpectedly passed away at the age of 68 on January 23, 2016. Last In Line, honoring what they knew would be Bain’s wish to keep the band moving, brought in renowned bassist Phil Soussan (ex-Ozzy Osbourne) and committed to sustained touring in support of the album, hitting festivals, headlining clubs, and sharing the stage with metal luminaries such as Saxon and Megadeth.

John Waite

The ride began when Waite was tapped as bassist and lead vocalist for the Baby’s, who rocketed to Top 20 chart positions with a pair of infections hits, “Isn’t it Time” from the band’s sophomore LP, Broken Heart in 1977 and the monster ballad, “Every Time I Think of You”, off 1978’s Head First. But it was the album’s rhythmically aggressive and seductive title track where fans got their first glimpse of the authentic John Waite, a no-holds-barred rock n’ roll performer devoted heart and soul to live performance and making sure every fan in the audience left the concert hall just as elated and exhausted as the band they’d paid to see.

PRE-SHOW VIP UPGRADE EXPERIENCE: Wishbone Ash

The classic rock bands of the late ’60s and early ’70s enjoy a unique place in popular musical history. The Beatles had gone their separate ways, Britain had already experienced the Blues Boom, and Psychedelia had made its impact. The creative possibilities were infinite. Wishbone Ash embarked on the nascent Progressive Rock scene in 1969, taking full advantage of a fertile musical environment where they produced a distinctive brand of melodic rock. Inspired equally by British folk traditions and American jazz and R&B, the group played to public and critical acclaim. Fifty plus years later, having pioneered the use of twin lead guitars, Wishbone Ash has gained worldwide recognition, based firmly on a regime of relentless touring. The band includes founding member Andy Powell, who handles lead vocals and trades licks with Yorkshire’s Mark Abraha, Bassist Bob Skeat, a 25-year veteran of the band, drives the rhythm section along with Joe Crabtree, one of the best of Britain’s new breed of drummers. Recording highlights are, of course, the multi-million selling 1972 album “Argus,” considered to be one of the all-time classic rock albums, together with “Pilgrimage” (1971) and “New England” (1976). More recently, “The Power of Eternity” (2007), “Elegant Stealth” (2011) and “Blue Horizon” (2014) garnered enthusiastic praise. It was not until 2019 that the album Coat of Arms was to be released and that has proved to be a real career-capper. The band’s biggest seller, the double album “Live Dates” (1973), is one of the most highly rated live albums of the 1970s.
